ABOUT RE-EXISTING!

Mission

Re-existing is a collaborative initiative between social movements, intellectuals, university people, artists, and investigative journalists, aiming to deepen how we accompany each other in mutual solidarity, listening to the knowledge and spiritualities of the peoples in resistance against global systemic violence, to strengthen local, regional, and intercultural re-existences.

Vision

A decade ago, we began a critical thinking process in Mexico, aiming to promote the connection of the knowledge of the peoples with knowledge itself, exploring paths of autonomy of knowledge, territories, and subjectivities.

We wish to support our initiatives of awakening in the face of violence, imagining new ways of life, and embracing each other in the cracks of power and hegemonic systems, connecting our assumed vulnerability with solidarity as a path of memory, justice, and reconciliation.

Objectives

  • To accompany social justice processes through solidarity among individuals and collectives rooted in existential, social, and religious peripheries.
  • To connect the struggles against injustice and for life for all, with their symbolic source that flows from the knowledge and diverse spiritualities of resistance.
  • To know and strengthen experiences of memory with justice and truth, open to the remembrance of our communities wounded by the systemic violence of colonialism, capitalism, patriarchy, racism, ableism, and sacrificial religion.

Values

  • Mutual accompaniment.
  • Listening from our own vulnerability, open to others.
  • Critical intercultural, interreligious, and interspiritual thinking.
  • Solidarity among subalterns and the excluded to imagine new worlds.
